job description - carpenter
DUTIES&RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to interpret and work from penciled sketches, drawings, plans, and construction documents.
- Familiarity with historic preservation work and practices are a plus. Assist supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
- Skilled in the installation and repair of windows, doors, drywall, cabinets, stairs, roofing, siding, and other fixtures as required.
- Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials
- Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
- Compliance with local building codes and health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
education, SKILLS & ABILITIES
High school and or vocational school graduate with five years of experience as a carpenter or equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have good attendance and work well in a busy environment.
